Penang's sole flea market sells anything from antiques, records, books and clothes to electrical items, aphrodisiacs, spectacles and fruits. Opens daily from 7am to 1pm, but goes into full swing on Sundays and public holidays.

Used clothes and shoes in excellent condition, old radio sets, VCRs, books, magazines, video cassettes, music cassettes and home decor items on sale here. All proceeds go towards supporting the Salvation Army boys home.

Chowrasta Market used book stores: 1st Floor, Lower Penang Road, Penang.

A very wide selection of books and magazines, some out-of-print, are available at the second-hand book stores. Genres range from all types of fiction, classical literature, medical textbooks, music, school textbooks, law books etc. You can also exchange your books with theirs. An ideal place for tourists to unload their books before leaving the island.

The Literary Corner Above: Up on the top floor, in the far corner of the Chowrasta, is a world of books.
