Malaysia Tropical Fruit Farm

It's amazing what the serene atmosphere and natural beauty of forests can do for stressed and jaded minds and bodies. Spending time with nature is like giving your body the best natural spa treatment there is. Best of all, all these won't cost you a sen.

If you think it's time for a break, get back to nature by visiting one of Penang's most beautiful Recreational Forests. From camping to picniking, nature walks to a dip in the pool, there's fun for the whole family.

Bukit Panchor Recreational Forest

Located 10km from Nibong Tebal or 50km from George Town, you can get to the Bukit Panchor Recreational Forest via private transportation or by hiring a taxi from Nibong Tebal town.
The Recreational Forest was first developed in 1963. It covers an area of 8 hectares, and is located in Compartment 2 of the Bukit Panchor Forest Reserve. It has become very popular among the local people as well as domestic and foreign tourists because the area is suitable for camping and other beneficial recreational activities. During school holidays, the area is packed with visitors who want to enjoy its serene atmosphere and natural beauty. Some of the facilities provided in the forest are rest huts, a camping site, signboards, a surau and public toilets.

Among the plant life found in this lowland forest area are the huge meranti sarang punai (shorea parvifolia) and other trees like Keladan (Drybalanops oblongofolia) and Kapur (Dryobalanops aromatica), which are well cared-for to ensure continued and healthy growth.
