Dancing has always been a part of local culture – from traditional styles like the menora and mak yong to cosmopolitan ones like tango and rumba, to modern moves like line dancing and jazz ballet. Names like Ek Chom, Khatijah Awang, Ramli Ibrahim and Marion de Cruz have elevated local dance to dizzying heights and international recognition.
