Penang enjoys a tropical climate with fairly uniform temperatures throughout the year, ranging from 32 degrees Celsius during the day to 22 degrees Celsius at night. Humidity is relatively high. There are no distinct hot or cold seasons and the mean annual rainfall range from 200-250cm. Although rain falls throughout the year, September to November are the wetter months.

Sunny weather beckons all year round (well, almost!). It is bright and cheerful in Penang. However, travellers not used to Asia’s hot and humid climate should pack a cap, water bottle and cool pair of shades when out exploring! Penang enjoys a year-round equatorial climate which is warm and sunny, along with plentiful rainfall. The climate is very much dictated by the surrounding sea and the wind system.
